Vietnam Post focuses to develop 03 core groups of post and delivery services


For the traditional service group including ordinary mail delivery, registered mail, standard delivery, express delivery, delivery of public administrative documents and international mail delivery, Vietnam Post will continue to maintain the stable service growth, focusing on market analysis, identifying key services for each key area and target customer groups. For example, promoting the provision of express delivery services - document delivery for customers in offices, banks, insurance… with time standards and accompanying with value-added services optimized to meet customer requirements. Mail and parcel delivery services continue to target customers who are manufacturing, distributing, trading goods companies and craft villages…

For the group of e-commerce delivery services, from the beginning of 2021, Vietnam Post has launched new services to replace a number of delivery services related to previous e-commerce customers and adding more new incentives on service fees; at the same time meeting the maximum requirements for quality and time targets. The highlight of the e-commerce delivery services of this postal business is the package price, fast delivery time and many incentives with free service fees for collection, return shipping within the district/commune…

A part from "E-commerce EMS service", "E-commerce standard delivery service", in April, Vietnam Post officially provided new "super-economic Commercial EMS service" specializing in the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh routes to meet the transportation needs in two key e-commerce big cities, helping to save delivery costs, especially for customers with high volume of orders.

President and CEO of Vietnam Post Chu Quang Hao said that Vietnam Post had set a target by 2025 with the volume of e-commerce delivery services reaching 800-850 million orders and by 2030 with 2.8-3.2 billion orders. In the coming time, Vietnam Post is expected to develop and deploy more delivery services within the inner-city areas with time targets of 2-4 hours, 4-6 hours; at the same time, socialize the transportation process to offer a package price based on the cost of the stages and competition in the area.


In parallel with the development of traditional delivery services and e-commerce, Logistics service group is also prioritized by Vietnam Post in 2021 after the Logistics Business Center was established in August 2020 to professionalize the logistics services and improve the range of products and services including Logistics Eco, Full-Time Logistics and Logistics Extra to meet the maximum demand for transporting heavy goods, bulky goods, and bulk shipments for processing enterprises in industrial parks, businesses in the field of import and export of goods, other companies in the same industries... In addition, Vietnam Post also provides customers with solutions for goods management and warehousing services through a diverse warehouse system: normal warehouses, bonded warehouses, CFS warehouses (warehouses used to collect and separate goods of many shippers transporting the same container), warehouses with special requirements to ensure proper handling goods preservation. Vietnam Post will also launch the first TAPA A standard bonded warehouse very soon in Vietnam this year.

Compared to the same period in 2020, traditional delivery services, e-commerce delivery and logistics are all on a steady growth track. In which, traditional delivery services and logistics grew significantly, at 24.5% and 30.4%, respectively. In order to meet the needs of customers to deliver parcels and parcels, especially at times when transportation conditions are limited due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, Vietnam Post has actively deployed many scenarios and methods for transportation projects, allocating human resources and vehicles to strengthen the network of sorting and clearing goods and postal items on all mail routes. Transport operation centers are also expanded in the direction of mechanization and automation in various fields, especially e-commerce and logistics exploitation to improve production capacity. Vietnam Post is currently operating regional transport and sorting centers in important provinces and regions such as the Southwest region, the Northeast region, the North Central region… with a total area of hundreds of thousands of square meters and automatic sorting system with a capacity of tens of thousands of postal items/hour as well as tools to optimize production activities and manage production operations such as pallets, forklifts, monitoring, camera systems… to ensure safety and security in goods item clearing.


The postal sector, especially postal and delivery services, will faces increasingly fierce competition. Therefore, in order to maintain the average growth rate of 30%, on one hand, Vietnam Post continues to promote the strategy of postal digitization on the physical network, which is the post office system that extends to the commune, village and village levels. On the other hand, Vietnam Post will continue to flexibly improve production processes in line with market changes, focus on customer needs, increase the frequency of goods delivery in different areas, to create new breakthroughs in both service quality and serving quality.
