With the mission of serving the community, in 2021 Vietnam Post will begin to deeply participate in the digital transformation strategy, especially the agriculture and rural digital transformation strategy by supporting 2.7 million farmer households to the e-commerce platform Postmart.vn. Especially during the time when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out strongly in the Southern provinces, Vietnam Post has directed the provincial posts to support farmers to put products for consumption on the postal channels and maintain retail locations of essential goods to help people and rural areas to help promote, introduce, transport and supply products between the two ends of the country more conveniently. The supply chain of Vietnam Post has never been broken during the two years of the pandemic.

Immediately after the meeting, Vietnam Post will focus on reviewing and updating agricultural production households' information on postmart.vn as well as helping farmers and agricultural cooperatives to actively use technology, step by step implement digital transformation in the field of agricultural production and trading.

Supporting farmers to bring their products on sale on the channels of Vietnam Post.

“Currently, Vietnam Post has a plan to connect with e-commerce platforms of postal countries such as Japan, Singapore and some countries in the region. When our products are brought on postmart.vn, they will be linked to e-commerce platforms of countries in the region, and in the future to developed countries. Vietnam Post will also add more utilities on the postmart.vn to ensure more convenient exchange and consumption of goods. For example, to consume small products, agricultural households, villages and communes can form groups and share products in their villages and commune on the e-commerce platform. Therefore, the e-commerce platform will solve the desire to exchange products between farmers in the same areas. Postmart.vn is the Vietnamese e-commerce platform and has a mission to serve people to develop agriculture, so there will certainly be many utilities for agricultural production households, including farmers who have never sold online" said Mr. Chu Quang Hao.

Mr. Chu Quang Hao added in 2021, Vietnam Post has delivered and transported agricultural logistics to the world, especially to the markets of Japan, Germany, Australia, and Europe and has had initial success. Therefore, for products with good brands and quality, agricultural production households can think of exporting agricultural products to markets, thereby raising the level of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market.

In the near future, Vietnam Post will increase investment in cold storage systems in many areas of the country. With this system, fruits, agricultural products, seafood... will be preserved to sell off-site, off-season but still ensure product value. Moreover, Vietnam Post will also cooperate with agricultural product processing enterprises to invest and develop processing technology of agricultural products for domestic consumption and export with a view to increase the value of the Vietnamese agriculture products.
