Vietnam Post accompanies farmers in digital transformation of production and consumption of agricultural products and goods in the 2021-2025 period

This event is within the framework of the "Pride of Vietnamese Farmers" program in 2021 with the participation of representatives of leaders of the Government, ministries, branches, scientists, research institutes, and businesses, in which there was Vietnam Post and 63 excellent Vietnamese farmers in 2021.

Mr. Luong Quoc Doan, Chairman of VNFU said: “The year of 2021 is the first year of supporting farmers on the e-commerce floor. It is the first time many farmers have livestreamed  to sell their products. Not stopping at the problem of finding output for agricultural products, during the peak period of the 4th Covid-19 pandemic, e-commerce is the most effective channel for people to access goods and services. This has boosted the rural e-commerce market.

The Forum "Farmers with Agricultural Digital Transformation" is an opportunity for ministries, departments, branches and businesses to develop leading digital transformation and technology to provide farmers with knowledge and equipment to apply production, meeting the needs of digital transformation as well as discussing the advantages and challenges in the current agricultural digital transformation.

In the framework of the forum, Vietnam Post and VNFU signed the Agreement of “Supporting farmers in digital transformation in production and consumption of agricultural products and goods in the period of 2021 - 2025".

The signing ceremony between two parties opened opportunities for cooperation and implementation of contents such as training farmers, supporting consumption, deploying the supply chain of domestic agricultural product supply chains as well as connecting to export high-quality agricultural products of Vietnam to the international market.

Through connecting "4 houses": farmers, cooperatives - logistics, supply chains - suppliers, exporters, consumption promotion centers - financiers, banks, insurance, Vietnam Post will participate in all stages from guiding people to the floor, consulting products to achieve the highest efficiency when supplying to the market, bringing the best value to the people, avoiding redundancy supply and price reduction, as well as the application of digital platforms of Vietnam Post in identifying farmers, putting agricultural products on e-commerce Postmart.vn, electronic payment Postpay, finance, postal credit for development agricultural production and many other activities.

Talking at the forum, Mr. Chu Quang Hao, President & CEO of Vietnam Post also shared the digital ecosystem for agricultural digital transformation and the initial successes of Vietnam Post in implementing Decision 1034 to support farmer households to bring their products on the e-commerce floor, promoting the development of the agricultural and rural digital economy.

“Postmart.vn was built by Vietnam Post with the mission of bringing Vietnamese agricultural products out of the villages. In just over 3 months of implementation, Vietnam Post has help more than 3 million farmer households on the floor and supported farmers to consume more than 20,000 tons of agricultural products. With the strengths of network, infrastructure and logistics, Vietnam Post not only supports farmers to transform their business in the digital environment, but also accompanies them from harvesting, packaging, and preserving. to transport to consumption points and connect for export promotion to bring high-value typical agricultural products to the world market," emphasized Mr. Chu Quang Hao.

In the coming time, Vietnam Post will continue to participate extensively in helping farmers on the e-commerce floor, coordinate with localities, cooperatives, suppliers, etc. to promote support for the consumption of agricultural products on Postmart.vn, thereby helping farmers develop economy, towards successful agricultural digital transformation.
