Stamp set “Year of the Buffalo” is launched

To welcome the New Year 2021 - Peace and Prosperity, the Ministry of Information and Communications issues the stamp set "Year of the Buffalo". The stamp set consists of two stamps and one block.

Stamp design 2-1 describes the image of Buffalo carrying on his back fruit baskets and Dong leaves used to pack Chung cakes with his cheerful face as flying in a flower field.

Stamp design 2-2 conveys the image of the buffalo mother and son with buffalo mother’s eyes in full love for her son. Both mother and son are wearing yellow apricot dresses. The mother buffalo is filled with Tet fruits on her back, her son is running along with his joyful expressions to welcome Spring.

The block background portrays peach and apricot blossoms and trays of five fruits offered to ancestors with best wishes for a year of wealth, happiness, reunion and prosperity to all families. Especially the tail of the father buffalo (Design 1) and the mother buffalo (Design 2) shape a symbolic heart for forever happiness.

The stamp size of 37 x 37 (mm), the block size of 150 x 100 (mm) with face values of 4,000 VND, 15,000 VND and 38,000 VND, are designed by Artist Nguyen Quang Vinh. The stamp set is available on the public postal network from December 12, 2020 to June 30, 2022.

The stamp set is issued with a desire to bring happiness, union, luck and fortune to all people and families. The stamp set conveys a meaningful message to urge all Vietnamese expatriates to return and celebrate Tet Holiday in the homeland.
